Community driven websites are all the rage in the web 2.0 world and user generated content seems to be ruling the roost at the moment. WeLoveLocal.com is a prime example of user generated content that helps others find the best local businesses by reading local reviews and ratings from people who have already used them. It uses Google Maps to help user find local business and also allows users to save businesses by using a personal bookmarking service.
Welovelocal is the labour of eMomentum, a privately funded internet company dedicated to investing and creating remarkable consumer focussed websites. It started out just providing reviews and information in the London area but has quickly scaled to include the rest of the UK.
It sports a clean and easy to navigate design and is built using web standards (xhtml/css). Obviously a lot of thought has gone into the website and it already looks like it will highly popular. Some of the reviews are very funny and you can get a better insight into some of the businesses by checking out the We Love Local Blog.
